Skin concern: Redness & sensitivity
What is sensitive skin?
Sensitive skin is a condition in which the skin easily reacts to stimuli such as environmental factors, skincare products or other factors. Symptoms can include redness, itching, burning, and discomfort in response to these triggers. Sensitive skin is a legitimate skin condition that should not be taken lightly; the skin is our biggest organ.
What causes redness and sensitive skin?
A multitude of factors can be at play. Environmental elements, such as harsh weather conditions, pollution, and exposure to UV radiation, can trigger skin sensitivity and redness. Skincare products containing irritating ingredients, exposure to allergens, and underlying skin conditions like rosacea or eczema contribute can also contribute to the severity of the condition, as do hormonal changes.
What can I do about it?
Adopt a gentle skincare routine with fragrance-free and hypoallergenic products, and do patch tests before using new products. Wear sunscreen, and try to identify and avoid potential triggers. You can also use products with anti-inflammatory properties to soothe redness. If you are unsure, just talk to our skin therapists and beauty therapists to develop a tailored treatment plan.
